Each class focuses on a different aspects and postures that attribute to the workings of your body, be it hip opening, strengthening and arm balancing, forward bends, back bends and general postures to calm the mind and strengthen the body. As an experience the class incorporates an intense aroma of incense with upbeat music to add a truly personal ambiance to her class.

What to expect

A lot of people are put off by the idea of Hot Yoga, they immediately think it might be too hard and that they won’t cope or will even dislike the heat. But that is not the case, Hot Yoga is for beginners too, be guided to take it easy, work at your own pace and listen to your body. Some aspects of the weekly classes are repetitive and part of a set sequence but this offers many advantages including being able to challenge your body in the same way every week and also focus on any improvement striving to develop your own level of flexibility.

Coming from a background in fitness and health promotion, Vanessa is also a qualified spinning and fitness instructor as well as being a qualified Registered General Nurse.

Focusing on her interest primarily in Hot Yoga she attended a 200hrs hot yoga training programme in America, Fort Lauderdale studying the Barkan Hot Yoga Method, which equipped her with the knowledge to understand and fully appreciate all the aspects of this type of practice and the advantages it brings working alongside any other sports or endurance type training where flexibility and stretching are paramount to maintaining performance and recovery.

Vanessa is also a qualified BSY Hatha Yoga Instructor and is a registered Yoga Alliance Member. She is a registered Adult General Nurse with a dip in Health Studies (RGN dip h).
